It is with a heavy heart that I share one of our board members has passed on, Andrew Firmin from Ft. Yukon. Andrew has served on the YRDFA Board for 11 years. He also worked as a Subsistence Harvest Surveyor for over 10 years. He had an immense love for the outdoors and fishing, and was a leader in his region; an active voice for the people he served in Ft. Yukon and surrounding area.
Andrew wore many hats including Vice-Chairman of the Eastern Interior Region Council for the Office of Subsistence Management and the City Manager of Ft. Yukon. His involvement in so many different areas represented his passion to serve and stand up for the issues that mattered.
We have lost a tremendous leader and there is no replacing someone like Andrew. He will be missed by many. We send Andrew’s family and community many comforting prayers and strength. Rest In Peace Andrew.
