The North Pacific Fishery Management Council meeting for October 2021 will be virtual. YRDFA submitted their comments online, while a verbal testimony will be given on October 6th. If you’re Tribe or any fishermen; commercial or subsistence, is willing to provide public testimony you can go to their website at www.npfmc.org/upcoming-council-metings/.
Dates to testify are October 6th at Council during B reports. October 8th at Advisory Panel and October 15th at Council during Staff Tasking. The most important day to testify is on October 6th. If you need assistance or would like to ask questions YRDFA will be setting up a virtual room for assistance. The SSC will meet September 30-October 1, 2021, and October 4-6, 2021. The AP will meet October 4-8, 2021, and the Council will meet October 6th, and October 10-15, 2021.
To see when documents will be posted, check the review documents schedule. A short summary of agenda items is forthcoming. The comment period will open on September 17th and the deadline for written comments is 5:00 pm (Alaska time) on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021. Submit written public comment through the eAgenda. Please be respectful when providing your written public comment. Council comments will be reviewed, then publicly posted after the deadline. The full draft comment policy can be viewed here. Remote testimony is an option if the Council meets in person.
