CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR ALASKA NATIVE TRIBAL ADVISORY PANEL SEAT FOR NORTH PACIFIC FISHERY MANAGEMENT COUNCIL (NPFMC)
The Council is soliciting for nominations from Alaska Native Tribes and/or Tribal Consortia for the designated Alaska Native Tribal seat on its Advisory Panel by November 17, 2023. The Council has established a designated Alaska Native Tribal seat on its Advisory Panel, in order to support engagement of Alaska Native Tribes and communities in the Council process, and to ensure that Tribal Perspectives are included and represented on its Advisory Panel. The new member will serve in the Alaska Native Tribal Seat for a three-year term beginning in 2024.
Details about how to apply for this seat can be found here.
Please note that submissions will be viewable to the public on the webpage for submissions. The nominations period for the designated Alaska Native Tribal seat will be open until 5pm on November 17, 2023. This deadline differs from other AP nominations that close at 5pm on October 31, 2023. The Council will consider applicants and the Council Chair will announce all the new Advisory Panel members, including the Alaska Native Tribal seat, at the conclusion of the December 2023 meeting. The term will begin in 2024 with the first meeting of the Advisory Panel, on February 6-9, 2024, in Seattle, WA.
