We will begin our weekly in-season summer teleconferences with our first call scheduled for June 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. AKST and 2:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time Canada. YRDFA was created by local fishery users to better communicate to fishery managers our questions and concerns in regards the Yukon River fishery and vise versa. Our goal is simple; provide weekly communications during the run between Yukon River fishers and the fishery management team for supporting escapement goals, sharing of run timing, river conditions, subsistence and commercial harvest, and clarifying complex fisheries issues during the fishing season.
As we enter the 2023 fishing season with no fishing opportunity we will be utilizing this platform to address other needs as well and share important information that affects the Yukon River. We will be coordinating guest speakers in areas of research, other management areas, and bycatch. We need all stakeholders involved in the overall success during this difficult time on the Yukon River.
We would like to thank those who renewed their annual membership and those who became sponsors this year. We greatly appreciate your generosity and your support. Please make a donation to support our efforts for you and the Yukon River
YRDFA looks forward to your participation in our weekly teleconference calls. Quyana caknek for your time and stay safe.
